CASRO Committees are for
members ONLY. Annual Conference: To plan, organize and conduct the Annual Conference as mandated by the CASRO Bylaws, so as to offer the membership the opportunity to discuss the business of the association, to learn from their peers and from invited speakers, and to meet each other in a relaxed and non-competitive environment. CASRO University : To develop programs, enlist speakers, and determine schedules and facilities for the conferences, seminars, and CASRO Forums for members and, if appropriate, the industry. Program topics may be of educational, business, or technological interest. On an annual basis, the committee chair submits for the Board of Director's review and approval a program plan, noting the number of conferences and the topic areas. Chairs Emeritus Council: To provide direction and guidance on the long-term objectives of the association. To review the long-range plan for CASRO on a periodic basis and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors about CASRO’s relationship with its various constituents and about its role in the industry. Financial Surveys: To coordinate the annual financial and compensation survey of CASRO member companies with the outside independent firm who collects and reports the data. To review and update the survey questionnaires and reports in response to changing membership needs. To utilize emerging technology to reduce costs and improve survey usability and increase member participation wherever possible. To analyze the data from the survey and to report the results in written/electronic form to CASRO members who participate in the survey and to present a summary of results to the membership at the Annual Conference. Also to provide input and assistance regarding the CASRO Business Barometer reports on quarterly bookings and revenue data. A sub-committee coordinates the Financial Survey for Data Collection companies for the CASRO associate membership. Global Liaison: To develop an understanding of and communications with the various international associations or groups that represent marketing and public opinion research, particularly AMAI, CAMRO, ESOMAR, EFAMRO and MRS. To explore opportunities for cooperative efforts and to promote awareness of CASRO and CASRO member firms globally. Government & Public Affairs: To ensure that there is adequate and
appropriate monitoring, lobbying and oversight on federal and state
legislation and issues that could affect marketing and public
opinion research. Separately, to make recommendations to the Board
of Directors regarding any government activities that could affect
the conduct of survey research business from an economic
standpoint. To encourage the development and enhancement of the CASRO Privacy Protection Program in order to meet the compliance
and implementation needs of all CASRO member segments.
Guidelines & Practices: To study, develop and update guidelines, such as the Business Practices Guidelines, the Data Collection Guidelines and the Data Processing Guidelines, that address the issue of survey research quality and procedures and to work with other associations to implement such guidelines. To address the issue of CRM: how it fits in with survey research and whether CASRO should have guidelines on research’s interface with CRM. To improve the CASRO Benchmarking Program (customer satisfaction measurement). Marketing & Communications: To promote the commercial survey research business as a professional and ethical industry through public relations efforts including responding to industry criticisms. As appropriate, conduct surveys on topics of interest to promote CASRO. Oversight of CASRO communication tools, including brochures and website. Membership Services: As mandated by CASRO’s Bylaws, to actively recruit new members to CASRO, to review and approve applications, and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning new member applications. To encourage member participation in CASRO committees and activities. To determine if membership needs are being met and to recommend measures or services that will better meet the changing needs of members. Standards: As mandated by the Bylaws, the Standards committee will make recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding any member against whom a complaint is made for failing to comply with the requirements of these Bylaws, including the CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics for Survey Research. If so directed by the Board of Directors, the committee will also recommend any possible amendment to the CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics for Survey Research . Technology: To provide information and guidance for CASRO membership as well as the larger research community on the use of information technology in survey/opinion/marketing research. As appropriate, gather information and create forums for the exchange of ideas and information. To plan, organize and conduct the CASRO Annual Technology Conference, so as to offer the membership and industry a forum to learn about issues and topics relating to emerging technology. |
