San Francisco, CA – October 9, 2008 – Computers for Marketing Corporation (CfMC) announced today that James A. Prasad has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Prasad succeeds co-founder Charlie Yarbrough, who has served as acting CEO since late January 2008. Yarbrough is looking forward to returning to his software development tasks.

Prasad has extensive experience in the high-technology industry, including start-ups and multi-billion-dollar companies. His leadership experience includes over 25 years with companies based in the Silicon Valley and beyond, including Red Hat, Adaptec, Quantum, ESS and Integrated Device Technology.

At Red Hat, Prasad was Vice President and General Manager of operations for Europe, Middle-East, Africa, India and Australia. In addition, he managed Red Hat’s Embedded Business and was part of Cygnus Solutions which was acquired by Red Hat. Most recently, he was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Specifix Inc., a software start-up company in the Silicon Valley.

“We are fortunate to have James taking the helm of CfMC,” said Yarbrough. “He has extensive technology industry background and a vision for the potential of CfMC software and services that will complement and build on our pedigree in the market research and polling industry. He has the right management experience, the right knowledge-base, the right attitude and the right perspective to lead CfMC into our next generation.”

During the last 25 years, James has taken on a variety of different leadership roles in high technology marketing, sales management, engineering management and business operations. He has an undergraduate electrical engineering degree and an MBA from San Francisco State University.

Prasad says that he is looking forward to taking on the role of leading CfMC in a new, positive direction.
“CfMC has been a leading innovator in research and polling since the very early days of computing,” Prasad said. “CfMC innovations practically started the research software industry and continue to be the backbone of so much that this industry does today. I am thrilled by the opportunity to work alongside the CfMC team and advance CfMC into and beyond its next phase of growth.”
