MarketTools Names Mike Pope as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer
SAN FRANCISCO, September 29, 2008 – MarketTools, Inc. today announced that Mike Pope has
been named executive vice president of operations and chief financial officer. Pope brings a 20-year track
record in finance and operations leadership, strategic planning and executive management to the role.
Most recently, he served as vice president, Office of the CEO, at BearingPoint, a global management and
technology consulting company.

Mike Pope's extensive executive management experience includes leadership positions at both private
and public companies, including BearingPoint, Network General, DigitalThink and Dionex Corporation.
Prior to his most recent role at BearingPoint, Pope was the president and chief operating officer of
Network General, a world-class enterprise software company focused on network and application
performance analytics, from 2005 to 2006, and served as the company's CFO in 2005. Pope is currently a
board member and chair of the audit committee at Dionex Corporation (DNEX) where he served as chief
financial officer from 1994 to 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a
Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
