CASRO President Elected To Roper Center Board
Port Jefferson, NY – Diane K. Bowers, President of CASRO (Council of American Survey Research Organizations) has been elected to the Board of Directors at The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research. Founded in 1947, The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at the University of Connecticut is one of the world's leading archives of social science data, specializing in data from surveys of public opinion. Through its educational programs, presentations, and advanced research, the Roper Center strives to improve the practice of survey research and the use of survey data in the US and abroad. The business and educational affairs of The Roper Center is managed by a Board of Directors that includes research leaders from academia, foundations, and research organizations. “I am honored to have been selected to join this prestigious body,” Bowers said. “I look forward to advancing The Roper Center’s well-respected archive and many programs, as well as in sharing with The Roper Center the interests and support of CASRO and its membership of 325 research businesses.” Bowers, head of CASRO since 1979, has been a member of the Board of Advisors of four U.S. graduate programs in marketing research. In 2006 she received the “Research Industry Impact and Prestige Award” from the Master of Marketing Research Program at the School of Business of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Bowers is a member of ESOMAR’s Professional Standards Committee and is a Past President of the Market Research Council (MRC), the Research Industry Coalition (RIC), and the Council for Marketing and Opinion Research (CMOR).
