Conference Objective

This conference is designed for research company executives who design research projects and contract with and manage field services. Participants will be educated on current issues in the selection of data collection methods (what is changing and where we, as an industry, are heading), new technology for data collection, new ways to approach sampling, privacy and do-not-call lists, and creating a partnership with field services to help make the process seamless.

8:45 a.m. Off-shore Data Collection

In this session, attendees will learn the practical business and project management considerations of what works and what does not work regarding off-shoring as it relates to data collection. Actual experiences with off-shoring telephone and internet data collection will be discussed and attendees will learn of real-world experiences ranging from off-shoring in Canada , the Philippines to India.

9:45 a.m. Best Practices in Vendor Supplier Integration

In this session, attendees will learn about the current tools and practices used by researchers to achieve improvements in data collection and project management. Emphasis will be on the tools and techniques that lead to better project control and how they are used to reduce costs and improve communications and client satisfaction.

11:00 a.m. Trends in Data Collection

This session will present new and unique findings from a new CASRO survey that is underway. The survey will present information regarding past, present and future trends of data collection. The survey data will be gathered from research professionals engaged in all aspects and modes of data collection and will provide insight on how data is being collected from respondents.

1:00 p.m. Legal Considerations Affecting Data Collection

As the legal environment continually changes, CASRO's Government and Pubic Affairs (GPA) Committee will update you on emerging legal issues and how they impact research and data collection. Issues regarding federal and state DNC laws, U.S. and international privacy, off-shoring, current FTC regulations as well as number portability and fax regulations will be addressed.

2:00 p.m. Mixed Mode Interviewing

This session will discuss the unique challenges and exciting opportunities involved with the design of research projects being carried out in multiple locations using multiple data collection methods (i.e. Internet, telephone, IVR, etc.).

Registration Fees

The registration fee includes instruction, course materials, breakfast and lunch on Friday. Cancellations on or before Friday, November 12 will be charged a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations after November 12 and no-shows will forfeit the entire registration fee, but substitutions can be made at any time. Please contact CASRO to make a substitution.

The hotel room reservation deadline is Friday, October 29, 2004. After that date, any unused rooms in the CASRO room block will be released and the hotel will take reservations on a space and rate availability basis only.
