Wednesday Night, June 1 & Thursday, June 2, 2005 Conference Objective The Financial Officer is critical to all aspects of any research business from balance sheet oversight to expansion and M&A evaluation to investor relations. By networking with peers and through candid discussions you will learn how to benchmark your company’s business practices against similar organizations, be energized with new tools to improve financial performance and be able to better evaluate the real cost of employee attrition vs. retention incentives. The conference starts the evening before with a networking cocktail reception. Are the financial decisions for your company in your hands? Join fellow financial executives representing a full spectrum of survey research businesses. This conference was designed with you in mind if you are a: CFO, Controller, CEO, and any kind of Senior Financial Executive. The CASRO CFO Conference provides a forum for attendees to communicate and network about common financial issues affecting the successful operation of their research businesses. Also, examples of expense and revenue recognition practices used throughout the industry will be discussed. 10:15 a.m. Networking Break 10:45 a.m. Strategic Performance Measurement Measuring what is good business and what is not. This session will discuss key performance indicators between the top and bottom line and management metrics to optimize profitability and strategic goals. 11:45 a.m. Financial Impact of Employee Retention This session will discuss weighing the cost of cash and non-cash benefits vs. employee turnover/replacement or outsourcing, not limited to sales and client service staff. Compensation structure, salary, bonus, benefits, and intangibles like opportunity for advancement will also be discussed. 12:45 p.m. Lunch (provided) 1:45 p.m. Business Expansion Strategies This session will discuss issues surrounding mergers and acquisitions activity & trends as well as organic growth of a company v. M&A. 2:45 p.m. Financial Impact of Legal Issues This session is not a legislative summary but a business compliance impact session. Recent changes in law for exempt & non exempt employees regarding overtime, HIPPA, Sarbanes-Oxley & other legislated compliance impacts will be discussed. 3:45 p.m. Networking Break 4:00 p.m. Wildcard Session In this session, participants will be able to expand on the sessions of the day and discuss other issues. This session will be very interactive where participants can ask questions and learn from others in the group. 5:00 p.m. Conference Adjournment Registration
Fees
The registration fee includes instruction, course materials, breakfast and lunch on Thursday, and the cocktail reception on Wednesday evening. Cancellations on orbefore Wednesday, May 25 will be charged a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations after May 25 and no-shows will forfeit the entire registration fee, but substitutions can be made at any time. Please contact CASRO to make a substitution.
Hotel Accommodations To make a room reservation at the Park Hyatt Los Angeles, please call the hotel directly at 1-800-233-1234 andreference CASRO to receive the CASRO room rate of $239 plus tax per night for a single or double room. The hotel room reservation deadline is Thursday, May 19, 2005. After that date, any unused rooms in the CASRO room block will be released and the hotel will take reservations on a space and rate availability basis only. Park Hyatt Los Angeles The Park Hyatt Los Angeles is approximately a 40 minute drive, about 12-15 miles from the Los Angeles Airport. |
