Conference Co-Chair Frank Kelly, Senior Vice President, Global Panel Director, Lightspeed Research In its third year, the CASRO Panel Conference drew its highest attendance ever - up over 20% to 178 compared to 146 in 2009. Attendees remarked on the high quality of presentations and papers and specifically noted the many collaborative research efforts among companies. The success of the conference stems from the vision and hard work of Conference Co-Chairs Frank Kelly, Senior Vice President, Global Panel Director, Lightspeed Research and Jeff Miller, President, Burke, Inc., as well as Panel Conference Committee Members: Pete Cape, Global Knowledge Director, Survey Sampling International, L.L.C., Steve Coffey, Chief Research Officer, The NPD Group, Inc., and Jonathan Jephcott, former Executive Vice President, Synovate, Inc. Among the topics hailed was survey routers, which, despite a long history and increasing usage, has not been widely discussed at such industry forums. "I can't recall any sessions on survey routers at an industry conference," said Olivier de Gaudemar, Senior Vice President, Online Community, OTX Research, who presented with his OTX colleague Scott Porter, Executive Director, Marketing Science & Innovation.
Conference Co-Chair Jeff Miller, President, Burke, Inc. "We have to live with routers, but we have to make them work," remarked Steve Gittelman, President, Mktg., Inc. "Right now it's a black box and we need transparency." Proper screening and blending up front - before the sample goes through the router - is critical, noted Chuck Miller, President, DMS Insights who sat on the panel with Gittelman and Kristin Luck, President, Decipher, Inc.
